Yes, Perl Monks really seems like a "Brotherhood" of Perl enthusiasts. It's the most congenial forum on the subject IMO.

Welcome to the madhousemonastery. Join in, have fun, but try not to upset the dragon. Better yet, pay a visit to my shop and make sure you have plenty of edibles on hand to avoid being eaten (unless you enjoy being eaten).

Actually, being eaten by the dragon isn't really all _that_ bad. It's warm and comfy inside, with plenty of room. And more often than not you'll bump into a friend or two :)
