Ladies and Gentlemen, for your enjoyment, we now have come to tonight's main event....in this corner, weighing in at 500 lbs, and wearing the crown of thorns, is the heavyweight world champion Jesus ( the well-fed western fans roar). In the opposite corner, wearing the flowing white headdress, is the challenger Allah ( roars can be heard from the poor hoards outside the stadium, who couldn't afford admission). I don't know, they are watching the match on custom satellite feeds to their security bunkers. I think they are rooting for Jesus. ( because they know what is coming if the other side wins).

Well, there's lots I could answer to that but I don't really feel like getting into a major discussion here. Just a few points:
- I posit that you have no idea whatsoever about my political/religious point of view, given that you don't know me and I did not explain them in my poem. You may infer certain thoughts I have from my poem, but that's about it and more likely than not you'll be wrong about most of them.
- My post certainly had more to do with Perl than your reply, you could have easily /msg'ed your comment to me if your concern were truly to stick to on-topic things
- My post is in the Perl Poetry section. As pretentious as that may sound, I consider Perl Poetry a form of art and it seems others do as well. Social and political commentary in any art is not only generally accepted, it is an important part of human culture. I am not the first nor will I be the last to post a poem containing political references to this section. If you do not wish to see posts with an outside context I suggest you refrain from reading the poetry section (which recently contained poems with OT topics such as drug abuse, humour, temporal philosophy and sado-masochism).
- I freely admit that I'm a beginner at Perl poetry and as such I don't pretend to be an authority on what constitutes a good or bad poem. So if you don't like my poem that's fair enough and I very much welcome constructive criticism. If you don't like the POV that you think is expressed in parts of my poem, fair enough, noone is asking you to share it, downvote me or don't, comment or don't. But I think you're way off-base asking me not to post something that I think is good poetry (and the majority here seems to share that view from what I can see) under the mantle of on-topicness.
